About Us

We are the largest Hotel in the rural area between Welshpool in Powys and Oswestry and Shrewsbury in Shropshire.

Situated away from the main road, just off the A483 in the leafy countryside between Oswestry and Welshpool we are within easy driving distance of all the main routes.

The Offa’s Dyke long distance walking path runs right outside of our front door.

Business, conferences, free Wi-Fi, mountain views; we have it all here.

Owned and run by Karen and Rob Cook Williams the Hotel boasts large en-suite bedrooms, courtyard suites with their own garden / car park, holiday cottages, camping and caravanning with electric hook-up and shower room, fully licensed bar and restaurant, and there is even our music sales / shop within the grounds.

Karen Williams is an excellent chef who grew up in the area, making a name for herself with versatile and local dishes, and using local produce where available.

Rob Cook Williams is a professional musician and has ran his music business, now called 'Golden Guitars' (to run alongside 'the Golden Lion') since the 1990’s
